REGULATIONS

On International Contest of Children’s Art “BOZTORGAI”

The aim of the given Festival-Contest is popularization of the children’s-youth musical creativity and youth musical art, activation of establishment of new modern works, improvement of artistic taste and respect for professionalism, the revival of the best traditions of vocal, folk, choreographic genres and the disclosure and support of young talents, the popularization of musical culture and art, the interaction and dialogue of cultures of different countries.

Organizational Committee of the International Contest of Children’s Art ”BOZTORGAI” is pleased to invite young singers, musicians, models, and dancers to be part of the Contest.               


Organizers of the contest:

The Contest to be held in the following genres:

  • 1. Vocal
  • 2. Choreography
  • 3. Folklore
  • 4. Instrumental
  • 5. Children’s Fashion

Age Categories:

  • 1. Junior group – up to 10 y.o.,
  • 2. Middle group – 11-13 y.o.,
  • 3. Senior group – 14 - 18 y.o.

Age is defined at the moment of the contest dates.


Dates:

  • May 28 – arrival of participants, rehearsal
  • May 28 – drawing will be at 18.00 P.M on the summer stage of the Park
  • May 29-31 – contest days
  • June 1 – Awarding and Gala Concert
  • June 2 – Departure of participants.

Prize definition:

  • Grand- Prix – 10 (On different age categories)
  • 1-3 place prizes – Laureates Diplomas
  • 4-6 place prizes – Diplomant
  • All participants will get – Diplomas of Participants

Vocal nomination

  • • In Vocal nomination can take part solo, duets, trios, and vocal groups..
  • • Participants perform mandatory 2 (two) contest compositions.
  • • Timing of a performance is not more than 4 minutes.
  • • The repertoire can consist of vocal-instrumental, vocal-choreography compositions accompanied by any orchestra, instrumental group or performed by themselves in any language.
  • • Arrangement of the accompaniment should be done in a professional studio by professional musicians. The instrumental soundtrack (minus) should be recorded on a CD or on a memory card. It is not allowed to sing with a back vocal (only in case the recording is done with the voice of a participant), and with plus (recorded performance) phonogram.

The winner of the Grand Prix in Vocal nomination, junior group (citizen of Kazakhstan) automatically will get the right to be part of the International Festival of Art “SLOVYANSKI BAZAR IN VITEBSK”, Republic of Belarus. The winner will represent Kazakhstan at International level.


Choreography nomination

  • • In Choreography nomination can take part only dancing groups and ensembles.
  • • Dancing groups to perform 2 (two) mandatory contest compositions.
  • • Timing of a performance is not more than 4 minutes.
  • • Junior age group in Choreography nomination to perform 2 (two) contest compositions of their own choice.
  • • For Kazakhstani groups, in Choreography nomination (Middle and Senior age groups), it is mandatory to perform Kazakh dance.
  • • Representatives of other countries, as well as Ensembles of People of Kazakhstan on all age categories have the right to perform their own folklore dance.
  • • The compositions and costumes of the groups submitted for the contest must correspond to the age category of the children.
  • • Recording of a track must be on a CD or on a memory card.

Folklore nomination

  • • In Folklore nomination can take part solo, duets and trios.
  • • Participants perform mandatory 2 (two) contest compositions accompanied by national musical instruments.
  • • The repertoire of folklore performance includes such genres like traditional and folklore singing, Zhyrau and Terme.

Instrumental nomination

  • • In Folklore nomination can take part solo, duets, trios and folklore groups.
  • • Participants perform mandatory 2 (two) contest compositions.
  • • Kazakh national instruments include dombyra, kobyz, prima kobyz, sherter, saz syrnai, accordion, zhetygen.
  • • Representatives of foreign countries, as well as representatives of Ensembles of People of Kazakhstan can play on their own national instruments.
  • • The contest organizers do not provide participants with piano or any other stationary musical instrument.

Children’s Fashion nomination

  • • Children’s Fashion nomination has no age categories. The groups can consist of kids between 5-18 years old in mixed groups.
  • • Groups to perform 2 (two) contest compositions of their own choice.
  • • Timing of a performance is not more than 4 minutes.

The winners on all nominations will be invited to the International Festival of young talents “Shattyk” to Astana.


Participation fee:

Participation fee can be made in tenge or in US dollars using the exchange rate for May 26.

  • • Soloists (vocal, folklore, instrumental) – $50
  • • Vocal groups – $80
  • • Instrumental groups – $100
  • • Choreography groups – $150

Parents and group leaders are fully responsible for the safety and health of kids.


Contestants, who are invited to be part of the contest, are responsible for their own round trip travel costs, accommodation and meals.


Organizing committee provides with several options of hotels. The cost of accommodation will vary depending on the level of the hotel, approximately from $15 to $30 per person per night.

The final hotel fee amount will be available on April 20.

The amount includes 3 times meal and transportation to the contest from hotel.

Transfer (Airport-Hotel-Airport, Train station- Hotel-Train station) is provided by the organizers.
